JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) reports that all electricity systems in Indonesia are safe through Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri. PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo explained that the entire electricity system was in reliable condition while passing the first day of Eid Al-Fitr 1445H.

"PLN recorded a national capable power of 51 thousand megawatts (MW) with a peak load on Eid al-Fitr at 31,000 MW, there is still a power reserve of 20,000 MW," Darmawan said in a statement to the media, Thursday, April 11.

In maintaining the reliability of electricity supply, he continued, starting from the generation, transmission, distribution, to customer service during this standby period, PLN specifically deployed more than 81,000 personnel on duty at 2,766 posts at all vital points of electricity and public activity centers.

The personnel are equipped with 1,731 generator units, 735 units of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), 1,206 Mobile Substation Units (UGB), 188 Mobile Cable Units (UKB) / Mobile Cable and Cubicle Units (UKKB), 19 units of Mobile Transformer, 33 units of Emergency Restoration System (ERS), 395 units of cranes, 3,756 units of operational cars and 3,318 operational motorcycles.

During the homecoming period, PLN also ensures that all Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) that are available in all rest areas are able to serve the needs of electric vehicle users. Facing this year's homecoming, PLN has prepared 1,299 SPKLUs spread across 879 locations, ready to serve users of electric vehicles throughout Indonesia.

The use of SPKLU in the homecoming period this time increased very significantly compared to last year's homecoming period. In terms of the number of transactions and power consumption in the 2024 homecoming period, this has increased 5 times compared to the period of homecoming flow in 2023.
