ESG Pegadaian Practice Supports MSMEs Upgrading

JAKARTA - PT Pegadaian supports micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to advance to class, especially in increasing capacity and quality, business management, and expanding business, which is in line with social principles in implementing environmental, social, and governance (ESG).

Pegadaian provides training for 360 participants who have passed the curation of a total of 2,360 registrants in the Gadepreneur 2023 program. Of the 360 participants, 30 of them received rebranding facilities.

Furthermore, Pegadaian resumed Gadepreneur in 2024 for 360 selected participants and managed to pass the curation of a total of 3,174 program registrants.

The Gadepreneur program does not only focus on developing the business of MSME players, but also supports social principles within the framework of the ESG and contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (Sustainable Goals) Number 8, namely Decent Work and Economic Growth.

Apart from Susy, training and coaching in Gadepreneur 2023 were also attended by MSMEs in the field of jewelry, namely D-Natiqa Pearls & Jewels, which is owned by Dewidya Natiqa with her mother, Nila Dewi Hanafi.

Pegadaian provides Susy, Dewidya, and other MSME players with various stages of training, coaching, and continuous assistance, including offline coaching, virtual mentoring, rebranding, and expo.

The briefing and training brought MSME players to have more insight and skills in developing their business.

The training provided by Pegadaian is also able to answer the needs of MSME players in dealing with their respective business problems specifically, so that in the future they can further develop their business in a sustainable manner.

"In addition to getting knowledge, we also get networking with other business actors, of course we can get information on exhibitions, and information so that it can further improve the business," said Dewidya, who serves as marketing director at D'Natiqa.

Efforts to assist MSMEs by Pegadaian are expected to further revive the local economy through employment and open new markets in the international world.
