JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) through the Maritime and Fisheries Human Resources Counseling and Development Agency (BPPSDM) developed a Smart Fisheries Village (SFV) program with the main commodities of patin fish in Sungai Dua, Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan.

SFV in Tanah Bumbu is located in Patin Village, Sungai Dua Village, Simpang Empat District, which has an area of 154.57 hectares (ha) and an exiting pool area of 17.3 ha.

The determination of this village as SFV is based on the Decree of the Head of BRSDM Number 156 of 2023 concerning the Determination of the Location of the 2023 BRSDM Fisheries Village/SMART Fisheries Village.

Representing the Head of BPPSDM I Nyoman Radiarta, Acting Head of the Center for Marine and Fisheries Product and Biotechnology Processing Research (BBRP2BKP) Langgeng Nurdiansah said, Sungai Dua Village has potential natural resources in the form of land, superior commodities that have economic value and become local wisdom and there are institutions of fish cultivation groups that have the potential to be developed into corporations.

"The SFV program of Sungai Dua Village carries the principles of sustainability, modernization, acceleration, regeneration and technology as the main focus in every leading fisheries village location," Langgeng said in a written statement, Wednesday, January 10.

Langgeng said, until now there are six (6) groups that have been trained, and this will continue to improve the quality of their human resources (HR).

"It is hoped that with the SFV program that has been implemented and through collaboration from various parties, the Sungai Dua Smart Fisheries Village or Patin Village will become more advanced, modern and of course can improve the economy of the village community," he said.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Tanah Bumbu Regency, HM Zairullah Azhar expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the implementation of the SFV Program Expos for Sungai Dua or Kampung Patin Village which of course involved the contribution of various parties.

"Hopefully with this important momentum, we will all continue to strive to work and pray in realizing the success of our regional development in the field of fisheries, food security and fish production will increase even more," he said.

As for 2022, the Tanah Bumbu Regional Government (Pemda) has built various infrastructure facilities at the SFV Sungai Dua location, such as training centers, independent fish feed manufacturing buildings, waterway repairs and irrigation, installation of street lighting, road access and revitalization of BBI ponds.

All the infrastructure built is expected to support the SFV program in Sungai Dua Village.

For your information, SFV is the development of fishery villages from upstream to downstream based on the application of communication information technology and management to be sustainable in order to improve the economy of rural communities in order to support the KKP's blue economy-based priority program.

The SFV concept is used as a means of developing human resources, both in terms of education, training, counseling as well as a means of business incubation to start startups in the fisheries sector.
