Soetta Airport Passengers Reach 2.62 Million During The Christmas And New Year Period

Passengers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport increased during the Christmas and New Year period compared to the previous year (doc. Angkasa Pura).

JAKARTA - The number of aircraft passenger movements at Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) during the Christmas 2023 and 2024 periods reached 2.62 million passengers.

This figure increased by 13 percent compared to last year's period of 2.32 million passengers.

In addition to passenger movements, Soetta Airport also noted that the number of flights increased by six percent or from 16,792 flights to 17,877 flights during that period.

Soekarno-Hatta Airport Executive General Manager, Dwi Ananda, explained that the increase in passengers and flight traffic can be managed properly thanks to the support of all stakeholders.

Furthermore, Dwi said there were five favorite destinations for airplane passengers to and from Soekarno-Hatta Airport during the Christmas and New Year periods.

"Bali as many as 510,076 passengers, Deli Serdang as many as 341,543 passengers, Surabaya a total of 232,538 passengers, Makassar with 215,557 passengers, and Pontianak with 148,553 passengers," he explained.

Meanwhile, continued Dwi, there were five busiest international routes during that period, namely Singapore with 286,520 passengers, Kuala Lumpur with 227,894 passengers, and Jeddah with 140,315 passengers.

Then, Bangkok as many as 62,199 passengers and Hong Kong with a total of 60,075 passengers, he said.
