JAKARTA - PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk or WSKT reported having terminated employment (PHK) or rightsizing 500 permanent employees until the third quarter of 2023 in order to reduce the company's financial burden.

Waskita Karya President Director Muhammad Hanugroho said, as an effort to improve performance, the company has cut employees from the previous 2,000 employees to now reduce to 1,500 people.

"Tidak lupa kami memperhatikan terkait in office, yaitu rightsizing jumlah pegawai yang saat ini sekitar 1,500 yang sebelumnya kita jumlah pegwai itu hampir 2.000. Kita sudah lakukan rightsizing untuk 500 orang," katanya dalam paparan publik, dikutip Jumat, 22 Desember.

According to Hanugroho, the layoffs carried out by the company have reduced the general administrative burden by around 8 percent. The company has the opportunity to lay off again.

"And then we will do rightsizing with achievements, maybe we can adjust it, with how many of our employees we can afford," he said.

Hanugroho said Waskita Karya had also conducted a re-evaluation and review regarding the percentage target of layoffs for employees with permanent employee status next year.

Furthermore, Hanugroho said, until the third quarter of 2023, the implementation of layoffs for employees had reached 18 percent.

"In the future, Wakita will continue to carry out efficiency programs in the future," he said.
