GARUT - The Department of Transportation (Dishub) of Garut Regency, West Java, advised motorists not to cross the alternative route of Cisewu, Kamojang, and Cijapati from Garut to Bandung at night. These routes have a high level of risk at night, especially since the driver has not studied them. "It is recommended to use the Garut-Bandung alternative road not at night, if it is not a problem during the day," said Head of the Garut Regency Transportation Agency Satria Budi in Garut, as reported by Antara, Sunday, April 14. Garut Regency has a number of alternative routes connecting with Bandung Regency, in addition to the main route of the Tarogong-Leles-Kadungora province to Nagreg, Bandung. Alternative routes have winding road conditions, not too wide, there are climbs and derivatives, so it requires caution when passing by. In particular, the southern route across Cisewu, he continued, has the potential for landslides to be dangerous during the rainy season which can interfere with road access. "It can be used with a note that it is recommended not at night, let alone rain, because it is prone to landslides," he said. If you have to go through this alternative route, said Satria, you should be able to crowd. But if it rains at night, it is still recommended to use the main road. He mentioned other risks going through the Cisewu route alternative route, namely getting lost while in the plantation area. For this reason, it is recommended to use the usual route for comfort, security, and safety. "Yes, it's a normal route," he said. Another statement was made by the Head of the Garut Police Traffic Unit, Iptu Aang Andi Suhandi, who advised motorists to use the main provincial or national road.

He mentioned that such as the Cijapati alternative route that connects Garut with Bandung across Kadungora is not suitable for large vehicles such as buses to pass.
