JAKARTA - The West Java Provincial Government checks the readiness of supporting facilities for travelers so that the implementation of homecoming runs safely, comfortably, and smoothly.

Acting Governor of West Java, Bey Machmudin, visited a number of places, ranging from terminals, hospitals, to homecoming posts.

"Earlier, seeing the readiness of going home, starting from Leuwipanjang Terminal, continuing the Cileunyi post, and reviewing the preparedness of the Cicalengka Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in facing this Eid homecoming period," said Bey on Saturday, April 6, 2024.

Bey said the travelers departing from Leuwipanjang Terminal looked orderly and smooth. Meanwhile, monitoring through CCTV cameras at the Cileunyi Homecoming Security Post at around 11.45 WIB, several areas in Greater Bandung are still normal and there is no density.

"Earlier in Leuwipanjang we saw it was regular and smooth. Earlier at the Cileunyi Command Post, I saw from CCTV that there had been no spike in this area (Bandung Raya). I think we are ready for everything," said Bey.

In order to ensure that the travelers arrive in their hometown in good health, Bey also asked RSUD Cicalengka to serve travelers who are experiencing fatigue to be given optimal services.

"Including this hospital (Cicalengka Hospital) I am quite good, still safe. The President Director has prepared a team during this Eid holiday. So, I entrust it, please pay attention not only if there is an accident, but also other services must be considered."

"We don't know anything is hot, some are sick, they still have to be served, don't let leave be an excuse to reduce the quality of the hospital," he said.

Meanwhile, the President Director of Cicalengka Hospital, Achmad Hanafi, ensured that services during Eid al-Fitr will run optimally.

He and his staff are committed to providing 24-hour service for travelers who are exhausted and need first aid.

"So far it has been going well. Alhamdulillah, the emergency room with hospitalization continues not to be off. We provide 24-hour service," he said.

Homecoming Health And Vehicle Feasibility

In addition to the issue of homecoming support facilities, travelers must also pay attention to the personal health and feasibility of the vehicle to be used.

"Make sure private vehicles are roadworthy and (drivers) are fresh. Even if you are sleepy, just stop. Don't rush, the important thing is to stay safe to your destination," said Bey at Leuwipanjang Terminal, Bandung City.

Apart from private vehicles, public transportation that takes travelers also does not escape the attention. Moreover, the West Java Provincial Government also provides free homecoming programs by bus.

"The average bus passengers (in) are 50 people per bus. Earlier there were also those who went to Merak. I asked someone to go to Lampung too, they got Merak picked up there."

"They (homecoming) are happy we facilitated. We are also happy because this is one of our efforts to reduce private vehicles (during homecoming)," he said.

Bey also ensures that the buses used in the free homecoming are in prime condition after going through various checking processes.

Likewise, the bus driver and crew are confirmed to be in good health and fit so that it is hoped that the trip will be safe, comfortable, and smooth.

"This also uses a safer bus already through checks. Buses have been checked, health and other conditions such as brakes and drivers are also confirmed that they are in a fresh condition while driving a vehicle," said Bey.

The West Java Provincial Government estimates that the density of travelers with public transportation in the Greater Bandung area will increase on D-2 Lebaran. Meanwhile, private vehicle travelers are predicted to increase starting Saturday, April 6, 2024.

"His condition is still at a normal level, there has not been a spike in congestion around Greater Bandung, especially if the estimated homecoming is likely to be local-local, Garut-Tasik, and surrounding areas. Maybe there will be a lot of passengers on D-2 Lebaran for those who use (public vehicles) buses," he said.

"For vehicles (privately) it looks like these two days will be a spike, but we have anticipated it," he said.
