JAKARTA - Candidates for the Regional Representative Council (DPD) RI from West Java Province, Alfiansyah Komeng won the most votes in the 2024 General Election in Karawang Regency, West Java. In accordance with the announcement made by the General Election Commission (KPU) Karawang, Tuesday, comedian Komeng won 284,624 votes spread from 30 sub-districts around Karawang. Komeng's vote was far behind his competitors, other DPD members. Even the second most votes only reached 127,405 votes won by Aanya Rina Casayanti. Furthermore, the third most votes for DPD RI candidates in Karawang were achieved by Jihan Fahira with 81,663 votes, followed by DPD RI candidate Agita Nurfianti with 72,125 votes. Meanwhile, public leaders, academics who are also activist figures in Karawang Sonny Hersona only won 23,456 votes in Karawang. The West Java KPU has appointed a candidate for DPD RI senator from West Java Province. Komeng became the winner in the DPD vote acquisition in West Java. This was confirmed through the reading of the recapitulation results of the votes from 54 candidates for DPD members from all electoral districts in West Java by the Commissioner and Head of the West Java KPU Data and Information Division Ahmad Nur Hidayat at the West Java KPU Building, Bandung, Monday, March 18. "The certificate of the results of this DPD recapitulation was made in 56 concurrently and signed by the chairman and member of the West Java KPU commissioner and the witnesses of the individual candidates for DPD members who attended. I declare it valid," Ahmad said as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 19.

Based on data received from the West Java KPU, the results of the recapitulation of votes for the DPD RI placed Komeng as a candidate for senator with the most votes, namely 5,399,699 votes, followed by Aanya Rina Casayanti with 1,976,561 votes, Jihan Fahira with 1,823,907 votes, and Agita Nurfianti with 1,168,837 votes. Although there are other names that won votes above one million, only four names have the right to become senators in Senayan.
