Prabowo-Gibran Discourse On Reconciliation, PKS Instead Alludes To Healthy Opposition

JAKARTA - Chairman of the DPP Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) as well as Deputy for Winning the Amin National Team, Mardani Ali Sera, talked about the discourse on reconciliation in the midst of counting the votes for the 2024 presidential election. Mardani actually mentioned the healthy opposition.

It is known that candidate pair number 2, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who won based on the quick count or quick count, plans to reconcile with the losing party in the 2024 election.

"I see that reconciliation does not mean that 01 joins 02, or 03 joins 02," said Mardani, quoted on Saturday, February 17.

According to him, reconciliation can mean that all parties recognize the victory of the candidate pair (Paslon) which was officially announced by the General Elections Commission (KPU). For example, if Prabowo-Gibran wins based on the KPU's real count, then Paslon number 1 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Paslon 03 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD will consistently be outside the government or opposition.

Mardani assessed that the composition would create a balance and build a healthy opposition.

"Building a healthy opposition is also part of reconciliation," said the member of Commission II of the DPR RI.

The PKS legislator for the DKI Jakarta electoral district then told about his experience in the 2019 election. Where PKS supported Prabowo Subianto. However, when Prabowo lost and decided to join President Joko Widodo's government, he said, PKS remained istiqomah on the opposition route.
