Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin inspected the new building of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) Abu Dhabi on the third day of his working visit to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (PEA).

Vice President Ma'ruf said the Indonesian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, which is located at Al Yaquout Street, Embassies District, Plot 42, Sector W59-02, Abu Dhabi, was built on the results of Indonesian diplomacy.

"This close relationship is the result of our diplomacy which has succeeded in building friendship and peace in the world," he said.

In addition to staying in touch with officials and employees at the Indonesian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, the working visit was also to review the service room owned by the Indonesian Embassy.

The several rooms reviewed by the Vice President include the Consular Service Room, the Foreign Election Committee Room (PPLN), and the Indonesian Migrant Workers Shelter (PMI).

The Vice President advised that the magnificent building could be used as well as possible for Indonesian public services.

The Vice President informed that the new building of the Indonesian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and Wisma Duta Besar RI was built on a land area of 5,574.18 m2 with a building area of 5,177.51 m2.

There are four buildings, namely the Receptionist Building, the Consultative Service Building, the Office Building, and Wisma Duta Besar RI, all of which are located in the Embassy Area in the MUSTriff area, Abu Dhabi.

The laying of the first stone for the construction of the building was carried out by President Joko Widodo and President Mohamed Bin Zayed (MBZ), who at that time was still the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the PEA Armed Forces, on January 12, 2020.

The design of the new building is the result of collaboration from the Indonesian Embassy team and local consultants who were then chosen by President Joko Widodo directly.

The construction process began in February 2020 and was completed in August 2022, followed by furniture filling. The new building was finally inaugurated and handed over in November 2022.

The new Abu Dhabi Indonesian Embassy building is located in a strategic position, not far from President Joko Widodo Street, the United States Embassy, the Turkish Embassy, the South Korean Embassy, the Anwar Gargash Diplomatics Academy, and also the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center.

The new building also features the Gunungan logo as a memento of Indonesia's Chairmanship at the G20 in the building.
