SERANG - Four fishermen who went to sea in Bojonegara waters, Serang Regency, Banten, were killed by a lightning strike.

Head of the Banten Basarnas Operations Section (Kasi), Heru Amir, said the fisherman who was killed by lightning departed with a number of other colleagues while looking for fish into the middle of the sea.

"Information about what happened this morning at around 10.15 WIB, they and several of their colleagues were trying to find fish around the waters of Bojonegara Beach," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 5.

The four fishermen, three of whom are residents of Mamenger village, Paperana village and one other resident of Karang Dalan Village, Karang Kepuh Village, Bojonegara District, Serang Regency.

His party explained that while at sea the weather conditions at the location were heavy rain and were accompanied by lightning, until they finally grabbed the victims.

"While going to sea around the waters of Bojonegara, the weather was raining and finally hit by lightning," he said.

Now the bodies of the victims who were struck by lightning have been evacuated to the funeral home for burial.
