The Ragunan Wildlife Park explained that a gorilla named Komu threw wood to protest to visitors because they felt disturbed.

The incident of throwing wood by a gorilla that occurred during the Christmas holiday then went viral on social media.

"Now I want to ask, if you are busy being disturbed by anger, aren't you? Yes, just like Komu, are you relaxed and disturbed by people screaming, angry?," said Ragunan Wildlife Park Service and Public Relations Staff (Humas), Wahyudi Bambang, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 2.

Bambang explained that Komu did not go berserk but that it was his response as a result of being disturbed.

"Actually, the response of Komu when he was disturbed. That's why we have warned visitors not to disturb animals, it is forbidden to give food, so that's the effect if visitors disturb animals, they respond, try to survive," he said.

Bambang said that if Commu was not disturbed he would not respond as in the viral video.

"Yes, it's like protesting, it's like don't bother me like that. Actually, if you don't disturb him, calm down, Commu's condition is also now fine, not stressed," he said.

Bambang appealed to zoo visitors, especially in Ragunan, to care and not to be insulted, be cheered at or shouted at in front of the animal.

"Come on, let's learn to care about animals together, don't let animals become material for ledekan or be a material for fire, these animals are a very expensive wealth that we must preserve," Bambang ordered.

Previously, a video circulated on Instagram shared by the @jakarta.ku account, where a gorilla was seen throwing a piece of wood at a visitor.

"The purpose and purpose of the gorilla is not yet known, so they dare to throw wood at the audience," wrote the quote in the video.
