5.25 Million Foreign Tourists Enter Bali Throughout 2023, Immigration Ngurah Rai Deposits IDR 1.89 Trillion PNBP

DENPASAR - The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office in Badung Regency, Bali deposited IDR 1.89 trillion for the state treasury from the Non-Tax State Revenue (PBNP) sector during January 1-28 December 2023 or an increase compared to the same period in 2022 which reached IDR 1 trillion.

"This achievement exceeded the target this year to reach Rp130 billion or 1,454 percent," said Head of the Ngurah Immigration Office, Rai Suhendra, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, December 29.

Of this total achievement, the most contributed by visa services reached Rp1.66 trillion, then income from immigration permits amounted to Rp174 billion, passport services Rp17.1 billion and other immigration services reached Rp33.5 billion.

The soaring acceptance of PNBP was mainly driven by the improvement in the situation after the COVID-19 pandemic which pushed restrictions on mobility between countries to be lifted.

In addition, the increase in the subject recipients of visa services upon arrival (visa on arrival/VoA) and electronic VoA which was expanded from 86 countries to 97 countries contributed to encouraging PNBP, especially from visa receipts.

There is also immigration crossing data for the arrival of foreign nationals (WNA) through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport reaching 5.25 million, an increase of 141.5 percent compared to the same period in 2022 reaching 2.17 million.

The 10 most countries from foreigners passing through Ngurah Rai Airport, namely Australia, reached 1.34 million people, followed by India reaching 441 thousand, then China reaching 284 thousand people.

In addition, the average number of visits is below 260 thousand people, namely England, the United States, Singapore, South Korea, France, Malaysia and Germany.

Meanwhile, revenue from immigration residence permits, Immigration Ngurah Rai issued 76,703 immigration residence permits, an increase of 6.71 percent compared to the same period in 2022, which this year is dominated by Russian citizens reaching 45,589 people, Australia as many as 8,558 and Germany as 6,724 people for an extension of the residence permit.

Meanwhile, passport services increased 33.2 percent to reach 33 thousand passport issuance.
