Firli Asks The KPK Council To Postpone The Ethics Session Through WhatsAspp Messages

JAKARTA - Member of the Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Albertina Ho said the trial for alleged ethical violations of the inactive KPK chairman Firli Bahuri was postponed. The postponement was made after receiving a short message of confirmation of attendance.

"Today's Supervisory Board should have started hearing the complaint case against Firli Bahuri. However, there is a WA from the person concerned asking for the trial to be postponed," Albertina told reporters at the ACLC KPK Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, December 13.

Albertina said Firli was focusing on the pretrial hearing at the South Jakarta District Court (PN). Thus, the KPK Council finally made a decision that the ethics trial would be held on Wednesday, December 20.

It is known that Firli is filing a pretrial at the South Jakarta District Court (PN). He sued the determination of a suspect in extortion or receiving gratuities from former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo by Polsa Metro Jaya.

"At 09.00 WIB, it will be tried again. If Mr. Firli Bahuri is not present at the trial on December 20, 2023, the trial will continue," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK Council agreed to try Firli regarding three alleged ethical violations. The first is related to a meeting with former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

The two ethical violations committed by Firli also relate to LHKPN which is not true, including debt. Finally, an ethics trial will also be conducted related to the rental of a house on Jalan Kertanegara Number 46. Firli is suspected of violating Article 4 Paragraph 2 letter a or Article 4 paragraph 1 letter j and Article 8 of the KPK Council Regulation (Perdewas) Number 3 of 2021.
