In Line With Husband, Ganjar's Wife Asks People With Disabilities To Be Given The Opportunity To Show Performance In The World Of Work

JAKARTA - The wife of the presidential candidate (candidate) number 3 Ganjar Pranowo, Siti Atikoh Supriyanti, said that the world of work and education in the country must be prepared to be disability-friendly.

Atikoh said that people with disabilities should be given the opportunity to show their best performance. He conveyed this when attending an International Day of Persons with Disabilities at Bumi Pospera, Cipinang, East Jakarta.

"In the work environment, it must be prepared, be it work or school, the environment that must be prepared so that they can receive (disabled) friends well, that they have the same right to also provide the best performance," he said, Sunday, December 3, was confiscated by Antara.

When meeting people with disabilities at the location of the activity, Atikoh received a lot of input from people with disabilities who have worked, among others, about the disparity of wages and career paths. And there are parties who employ people with disabilities just to abort their obligations.

Therefore, he is committed to cooperating with stakeholders to ensure the fulfillment of the rights of people with disabilities if he becomes the First Lady of the Republic of Indonesia.

"So far I have been committed to accompanying them, when before there was a presidential election like that. How can we join hands to voice their rights of course this requires cooperation from various groups, elements of society and stakeholders so that their rights are truly fulfilled," he said.

The same thing was conveyed by the presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo who wanted people with disabilities to have equality in all aspects, including the provision of infrastructure inclusiveness such as public spaces.

This was stated by Ganjar when he met Lombok disabled people in Graha Futsal, Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara, Sunday. Ganjar also greeted his friends with the disabilities of representatives of 38 provinces online in commemoration of the 2023 International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

On that occasion, Ganjar received several inputs related to equal accessibility rights for people with disabilities, especially in public spaces. They feel that so far the need for access to disabilities has often been marginalized.

"Earlier there were those who said 'here we are already using a wheelchair, sir, but I find it difficult to climb stairs, sir, please give me access'. 'Sir, I am blind, please, sir, I give you a sign and we know'," said Ganjar.

Many existing public spaces are considered less friendly to people with disabilities. For this reason, Ganjar is committed to encouraging the provision of infrastructure inclusiveness such as public spaces and government offices that are friendly to its users, including disabilities in the future.

Ganjar Pranowo wants people with disabilities to have equality in all aspects, ranging from education, access to public spaces, to the economy so that it is important in preparing superior human resources.

One of the efforts to encourage this is to involve the participation of people with disabilities in the development of public access infrastructure.
