Four KPK Leaders Ready To Undergo Investigation At Polda Metro Jaya Regarding The Firli Bahuri Case

The four leaders of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) are ready to fulfill the summons of the Polda Metro Jaya to be examined as witnesses in the alleged extortion case that ensnared the inactive KPK chairman Firli Bahuri.

This was stated by the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Johanis Tanak, during a press conference at the KPK's Red and White Building, Jakarta, Saturday, November 25, in the early hours of the morning.

"As citizens, of course, we obey the law. If the legal process is like that, we will follow it," said Johanis Tanak.

Johanis Tanak emphasized that the examination as a witness in the investigation process was a legal obligation that must be obeyed.

Therefore, Johanis Tanak confirmed that he and other KPK leaders would fulfill the summons for an investigation into the alleged extortion case against the former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL).

"We should not summon and examine people asking for information from others in this case or in other cases handled by the KPK, then other law enforcement officers will also ask for information, we must obey so that a case can be clearly disclosed," he said.

Previously, Polda Metro Jaya scheduled several examinations after Firli Bahuri was named a suspect in the alleged extortion case against SYL. The plan is that the police will also examine four KPK leaders.

"Including that, we are scheduled for an examination next week, related to the examination of the leaders of the Indonesian KPK," said Dirkrimsus Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak to reporters, Friday, November 24.

The four KPK leaders in question are Alexander Marwata, Johanis Tanak, Nawawi Pomolango, and Nurul Ghufron.

Kombes Ade did not specify when the examination would be carried out. However, he said, a series of examinations of the witnesses would be completed next week.
