BANDA ACEH - Aceh Police deployed a number of personnel to help evacuate residents trapped in floods in a number of areas in East Trumon District, South Aceh Regency.

"There were dozens of flood victims who were evacuated. The evacuation involved Brimob Company C personnel from the Aceh Police, local police personnel, and BPBD officers from South Aceh Regency," said Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Police, Kombes Joko Krisdiyanto, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, November 24.

Previously, a number of areas in East Trumon District, South Aceh Regency, were hit by banners due to overflowing river water. The flood continued to inundate dozens of houses with water levels estimated at one meter.

Joko Krisdiyanto said the evacuation process was carried out on 47 residents, most of whom were working in plantations. Evacuation using boats with a distance of about six kilometers.

"The evacuation was carried out because people could not survive in their homes. Moreover, there is a possibility of further flooding. Of the 47 residents who were evacuated, some were children," said Joko Krisdiyanto.

In addition to evacuation, he said, personnel in the field also continue to monitor conditions in flood areas. The presence of personnel in the disaster area is a form of the police being always present in the midst of society.

"People affected by the flood who want to be evacuated should immediately inform personnel in the field. The police are always ready to help people affected by the flood," he said.

Meanwhile, South Aceh Police Chief AKBP Nova Suryandaru said his party was continuing to communicate and coordinate with the parties to handle the flood-affected communities.

"We also convey our concerns about the situation being faced by the community due to flooding. With the spirit of being together, we are trying to provide assistance as soon as possible to ease the burden on the people affected by the flood," said Nova Suryandaru.
