The Minister Of Religion's Proposal Is Considered To Be Weighting Congregants, PPP Suggests Hajj Costs Next Year Rp90 Million For Regular

The Partai Persatuan Pembangunan (PPP) faction of the DPR RI assessed that the proposal of the Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas regarding the 1445H/2024M hajj costs of Rp105 million was too burdensome for Hajj pilgrims. Member of Commission VIII DPR RI from the PPP faction, Syaifullah Tamliha suggested that the cost of Hajj next year could be reduced to Rp90 million per congregation. This figure, approximately the same time as the 2023 regular Hajj costs. "The PPP faction encourages if possible, then efforts should be made so that it is still the same as the 2023 BPIH which at that time was Rp. 90,050,637.26 per regular Hajj," said Syaifullah Tamliha in his statement, Friday, November 17. Syaifullah explained, from the amount of BPIH 2023, it was agreed that the amount of Bipiah that had to be paid by the congregation at that time was an average of Rp. 49,812,700.26 or 55.3 percent of BPIH. While the rest came from a benefit value of Rp. 40,237,937 or 44.7 percent of BPIH. "The PPP faction will certainly oversee and monitor this in discussions with the government with the hope that the 2024 BPIH proposal, which is Rp. 105 million per congregation, can still change and be reduced," he explained. Therefore, Tamliha continued, the PPP faction requested that the government review the total cost of Hajj in 2024. And not increase costs at a figure far from the previous year. "If there must be an increase, it is hoped that the increase will not be much," said Tamliha. It is known, the Ministry of Religion proposes the Cost of Organizing Hajj (BPIH) 1445 H/2024 AD with an average of IDR 105 million. The proposal was submitted by the Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas to the DPR during a Working Meeting with Commission VIII in Jakarta, November 13.

The Minister of Religion said that the cycle was indeed the government proposing the cost of Hajj. So the Ministry of Religion proposed a BPIH of Rp. 105 million per congregation. "This proposal will be used as material for discussion by the Panja to later agree on how much the 2024 Hajj costs," explained Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas.
