BANDA ACEH - Anies Baswedan's presidential candidate expressed his commitment to struggle to bring equal justice to the people of Indonesia, including in Aceh province.

"I came here to greet the people of Aceh and again convey that we are committed to providing justice for equality, especially for the people of Aceh," said Anies Baswedan during a visit to Lhokseumawe, Aceh, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 1.

Anies Baswedan accompanied by his wife Fery Farhati returned to visit Aceh to stay in touch with residents in Lhokseumawe City.

Finally, reading the president from the Coalition for Change visited Banda Aceh in December 2022. Anies' arrival this time at Serambi Mecca was accompanied by Deputy Chairman of the NasDem Party Ahmad Ali, Chairman of the NasDem DPW Aceh Province Teuku Taufiqullhadi.

Anies said Aceh had fought for independence before this country became independent. In fact, when Indonesia became independent Aceh became a capital area for this republic.

"Aceh is a society that has a big contribution to the Republic of Indonesia," he said.

Aceh, continued Anies, is a wealthy province with natural resources, but to this day it still feels inequality in welfare.

"In fact, here we feel that there are many developments that do not run quickly, developments that are not felt by all. So we prioritize accelerating development in Aceh," he said.

Anies stated that Law Number 11 of 2006 concerning the Government of Aceh (UUPA) needs to be implemented so that the programs contained in it can be realized, including the issue of the Aceh Special Autonomy Fund (Otsus).

"UUPA needs to be implemented. We just try our best (about the Aceh Special Autonomy Fund)," he said.

The former governor of DKI Jakarta thanked a number of local parties in Aceh for providing support for him.

"I thank the party (local in Aceh) for supporting it," said Anies Baswedan.
