JAKARTA - Commander of the Military Regional Military Police (Danpomdam) Jaya Colonel CPM Irsyad Hamdie Bey Anwar said First Lieutenant GDW who fought the traffic flow on the MBZ Toll Road until he had an accident on Saturday (9/9) had a history of relapse.

"The person concerned has been diagnosed with illness, so to endure the pain he took the medicine," said Irsyad as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 13.

Irsyad explained that this disease had an impact on GDW taking actions unconsciously.

"So he can take actions that he does not realize," he said.

At the time of the accident, GDW was also known to be under the influence of drugs for his illness. However, the disease is the dominant cause of the accident.

"So if you say the influence of drugs also exists, the more dominant thing is the effect of this illness," he explained.

Irsyad also explained that the disease GDW was indeed under the supervision of its task force.

"That's why he was under the supervision of the unit. Only at that time, he did not have permission to leave at the time of the incident," he explained.

Army member Lettu Karya GDW who was driving a vehicle against the direction on the Mohammed bin Zayed (MBZ) Flyover Toll Road, Bekasi, West Java, on Saturday (9/9) is said to have psychological problems.

The 29-year-old man from the Yonkav 7/Pragosa Satya Kodam Jaya Unit caused a series of seven car accidents on the flyover toll road.

"Lettu GDW has a history of illness, psychological conditions are also not healthy and are under unit supervision," said Head of Information for Kodam Jaya, Lt. Col. Inf. Herbeth Andi Amino Sinaga during a press conference at Ridwan Meuraksa Hospital, East Jakarta, Monday.

While driving his car since Fajr, GDW does not have permission from his unit.

"On Saturday (9/9) the person concerned left. What is clear is that in Fajr time he left driving a car without permission from his unit," he said.
