JAMBI - Sub-Directorate IV Tipidter Team Ditreskrimsus Jambi Police arrested two perpetrators of illegal oil mining or illegal drilling in Bungku Village, Bajungbang District, Batanghari Regency.

Director of the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the Jambi Police, Kombes Cristian Tory, said the two perpetrators of illegal oil miners with the initials (KS) and (HS) were secured at around 15.00 WIB, Monday, August 28.

The incident began with information from the public regarding the alleged illegal or unlicensed oil mining activities in Bungku Village, Bajudang District, Batanghari Regency.

At around 10.00 WIB in the morning, the team departed for the location suspected of being the location of the illegal oil mining.

Furthermore, at around 15.00 WIB in the afternoon the Jambi Police Ditreskrimsus team arrived at the location and found that the location contained illegal oil mining activities.

"We have secured two motorists (illegal oil miners) along with tools used for oil mining activities without permission," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 29.

Tory said that his party also secured a number of pieces of evidence from the two perpetrators, namely two motorbikes that had been modified, two iron canting pipes, two mining rope rolls and two jerry cans containing black liquid resembling 10 liters of oil.

The perpetrators and the tools used were brought to the Jambi Regional Police for further investigation.

The Jambi Regional Police have shown their commitment to eradicate illegal oil mining in the area because it is detrimental to the state.
