JAKARTA - Chairman of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) Hasto Atmojo Suroyo said the North Sumatra Police had confiscated the assets of a palm oil mill belonging to the former non-active Langkat Regent Terbit Rencana Perangin Angin.
Terbit is convicted of a bribery case for a project by the Public Works and Spatial Planning Service and the Langkat Regency Education Office in 2021.
"Today, investigators from the North Sumatra Regional Police or North Sumatra Police have confiscated palm oil mill assets as collateral for restitution payments to victims," Hasto said during a working meeting with Commission III of the DPR, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 6.
He said the latest information was obtained from his team which was handling the case of human cages in the private house of Terbit Rencana Perangin Angin, where the victims were protected by the LPSK.
"Thank God, the North Sumatra Regional Police decided to confiscate assets," he said.
Hasto said the confiscation of the palm oil factory assets owned by Terbit Rencana Perangin Angin was one of the efforts to provide the best possible service to victims.
"So that we can provide the best possible service to victims and especially ensure that the restitution demanded by the protected LPSK can be paid," he said.

He added, the case file for the human cage case will be submitted to the High Prosecutor's Office (Kajati) of North Sumatra (Sumatra) on Wednesday, June 7.
