WEST JAVA - Cianjur Police revealed the identity of the man whose body was found floating in the Jangari Reservoir on behalf of Syaifudin Maulana from Blora, Central Java.

The body was found with his hands tied and his head wrapped in a sack. Syaifudin has only been living in Bandung for the last few years.

Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cianjur Police, AKP Septiawan Adi, said that after an autopsy, Syaifudin was suspected of being a murder victim. His body was deliberately dumped by the perpetrators in Cianjur to eliminate traces.

"We have carried out an autopsy to determine the cause of death of the victim who was found floating in the Jangari Reservoir, a provisional suspicion of a murder victim because several wounds were found on his body," said Adi in Cianjur, West Java, as quoted from Antara, Tuesday, October 19.

The family has taken Syaifudin's body after an autopsy at the Cianjur Hospital.

Adi said the Cianjur Police would investigate the case of the victim's death and reveal the perpetrator who dumped his body into the reservoir.

"We will develop the case and conduct an investigation to reveal the perpetrators of the murder of the victim who is known to have no permanent job while living in the city of Bandung," he said.

Previously, a number of residents found the body of an unidentified man floating in the Jangari Reservoir on Saturday, October 15. The body was found with his hands tied and his head wrapped in a sack. Residents reported it to the police.

"When he was found his condition had started to swell with his hands tied and his head wrapped in a sack. We found a number of wounds on the victim's body, so we strongly suspect that he was a murder victim. The victim's body was immediately taken to the Cianjur Hospital for a post-mortem and autopsy," he said.
