Stop Advertising On Platform X, Walmart: We Found Better Platforms

JAKARTA Walmart, the largest retail management company in the United States, is reported to have stopped advertising on platform X, Twitter previously. This news was first reported by Reuters.

This information was conveyed directly by Walmart on Friday, December 1. When asked why they stopped advertising, Walmart did not mention the issue of antisemitism content at all.

"We are not advertising on X because we have found other platforms that can reach our customers better," a Walmart spokesperson said.

Currently, more than 100 companies and political advertisers have attracted ads on X, both temporary and so on. The issue comes after Media Matters made research on antisemitism content side by side with big company ads.

Apart from Walmart, a row of other companies that have resigned as advertisers are Apple, IBM, Disney, Comcast, Warner Bros., Coca-Cola, Netflix, Ubisoft, Airbnb, and many more.

Responding to the resignation of advertisers, X Corp owner Elon Musk is trying to look fine. Musk was even able to challenge advertisers to step down at the Dealbook conference some time ago.

He alluded to Disney CEO Bob Iger, who previously said he wanted to be affiliated with X, but joined in attracting ads when the ad problem occurred. Musk hopes advertisers will stop using his platform.

"I hope they stop. Don't advertise. If someone tries to blackmail me with ads, blackmail me with money, go away. Go yourself. Is that clear? I hope so," Musk said, quoted by VOI through The Verge.

Although Musk was seen expelling advertisers, at the end of his statement Musk said advertising was an important component of the company. Stop advertising on X not only kills the company's revenue, but also kills the company itself.
