BATAM - The Batam City COVID-19 Task Force, Riau Islands reported that an additional 19 people died from COVID-19. The total death toll in Batam is 555 people.

Based on records, the number of residents who died in a day was the highest relative, at least during July 2021.

This condition also raised the death toll from COVID-19, from 2.443 percent on Monday, to 2.489 on Tuesday, July 27.

While the additional number of residents who tested positive for COVID-19 was 361 people, the total was 22.298 people.

In the report distributed by the Spokesperson for the Batam City COVID-19 Task Force, Azril Apriansyah, it was stated that of the 361 new cases, 275 of them were symptomatic confirmations, 63 were asymptomatic, 16 confirmed contacts, and seven confirmed no travel history or close contacts.

It was also recorded that an additional 360 people recovered today, bringing the total to 18.762 people who have recovered.
