JAKARTA - The Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of West Java Province is concerned about the findings of delays in payment of incentives for health workers who are at the forefront of handling COVID-19. This is what happened in Garut Regency.

"I am concerned that in Garut Regency this is a problem that perhaps there needs to be an improvement from the leading sector, in this case perhaps the West Java Provincial Health Service so that these health workers really get attention from the side of their rights", said a member of Regional House of Representatives Commission V of West Java Province, Ade Kaca in Bandung, reported by Antara, Friday, July 23.

Based on the information compiled by him, currently, the West Java Provincial Government has only distributed incentives for handling health workers by 34 percent and in West Java alone the number of health workers receiving incentives has reached more than 41,000.

Ade Kaca does not deny this is due to facts in the field, for example in Garut Regency, this is a problem that many health workers complain about.

According to him, with the high risk borne by health workers, accelerating the payment of health workers' incentives must be prioritized during the current COVID-19 pandemic crisis.

He hopes that in the future it will not happen again regarding the distribution of incentives for health workers who experience delays.

"When they have worked with all their sacrifices, their rights must be given, the money is there, why should it be slow, therefore I encourage the Health Office so that this incident does not happen again", he said.

He found facts on the ground that health workers complained about incentives.

According to him, with the high risk posed by health workers, accelerating the payment of health workers' incentives must be a priority during the current COVID-19 pandemic.
