COVID-19 Update As Of July 21: 33,772 New Cases, Accumulated 2,983,830 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 153,330 specimens were examined with the result that there were 33,772 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 2,983,830 people and 549,694 active cases", according to data from the Ministry of Health, Wednesday, July 21.

Today's recovered cases increased by 32,887 cases, bringing the total to 2,356,553 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 1,383 people and a total of 77,583 people.

The province with the newest cases was in West Java with 5,950 cases and a total of 536,756 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 5,950 new cases with a total of 763,429 cases. Central Java has 4,253 new cases and a total of 333,481 cases. Then, East Java has 3,859 new cases and a total of 253,104 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an increase of 6,862 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 10,558 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 3,979 recovered cases and East Java with an additional 2,980 recovered cases.

No province has reported any new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 23,819,584.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 38.92 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 271,662 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

To date, 42,611,602 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 16,606,675 people have received the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
