Good News From Central Sulawesi, COVID-19 Patients Who Recovered Become 13,677 People

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Data and Information Center (Pusdatina) of Central Sulawesi (Sulteng) Province, Moh. Haris Kariming stated that the number of recovered COVID-19 patients in the province had increased to 13,677.

"Today, 72 COVID-19 patients have been declared cured, bringing the cumulative total of recovered COVID-19 patients in Central Sulawesi to 13,677," he said in Palu City, as reported by Antara, Monday, July 19.

He explained that the 72 people were in a number of areas, including 38 people in Banggai Regency, 22 people in Sigi, three people in Banggai Laut (Balut), two people in Poso, one person in Tojo Una-Una (Touna), and six people. in Palu City.

Those who have recovered, he continued, have been allowed to return home, but must implement health protocols to prevent the transmission and spread of COVID-19 so as not to be exposed again.

"Meanwhile, 251 people were confirmed positive for COVID-19 today, including 47 people in Palu, 84 people in Banggai, 33 people in Touna, 25 people in Banggai Islands (Bangkep), 23 people in Poso, 18 people in Morowali," he said.

Then seven people in Balut, four people in Sigi and North Morowali (Morut), three people in Donggala, two people in Parigi Moutong, and one person in Buol. Cumulatively, he said the total number of confirmed COVID-19 patients to date is 16,792.

In addition, seven COVID-19 patients, two each in Banggai Islands (Bangkep), one in Touna, Morowali, Donggala, Balut, and Banggai were declared dead today, bringing the total number of COVID-19 patients who have died so far to 473.

"The 2,642 COVID-19 patients are currently undergoing self-quarantine or at health service centers belonging to the local government. Let's pray that they all recover," he explained.

He asked the public to support the supervisory team of the district and city health offices in Central Sulawesi who conducted searches on people who had been in contact with positive COVID-19 patients.

In addition, residents must implement health protocols to prevent the transmission and spread of COVID-19.

"Prevention is by wearing masks, washing hands, and keeping a distance, and staying away from crowds. This step is very important to do to break the chain of spread and transmission of COVID-19 in Central Sulawesi," he said.
