Spanish Motorcycle Thief Fugitive In Mandalika Central Lombok Arrested

The Satreskrim of the Mandalika Regional Police in Central Lombok has arrested a fugitive in a motorcycle theft case belonging to a foreign national (WNA).

"The perpetrator has the initials R (23) from Pujut District," said the Head of the Mandalika Regional Police, Iptu Kadek Suhendra in Praya, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Monday, June 12, confiscated by Antara.

This case was revealed after the police received a report from a victim named Carlos Mario from Barcelona, Spain. The police report was registered LP/17/III/2023/NTB/Res Loteng/Sek Kws Mandalika with March 24, 2023.

The police then conducted an investigation and succeeded in arresting the perpetrators without a fight.

"In addition to the members, the members also confiscated evidence in the form of a T key," he said.

The theft case began when the perpetrator stole a motorbike in the victim's villa project parking lot in the Mandalika area of Central Lombok on March 23, 2023.

When the perpetrators were caught on CCTV cameras, 2 people were seen in the parking lot, 1 perpetrator was seen forcing him to turn on the motorcycle's ignition key, after which the two perpetrators went to the main road of one perpetrator using N Max and one perpetrator was carrying a stolen motorbike.

"The perpetrator with the initials I has been arrested previously and is currently serving a sentence," he said.

Then, the police conducted an investigation and obtained information on the whereabouts of the perpetrators of the wanted list (DPO) at his mother's house in Langkor Village. The police then moved quickly to carry out the raid at his mother's house, but the perpetrator fled.

"Members scattered after the perpetrators but were unable to find the perpetrators because they lost the terrain and the situation was dark," he said.

Members received information that the perpetrator was hiding in an empty house belonging to his family in the same hamlet and the members moved quickly and managed to secure the perpetrator without a fight.

"From the results of the initial interrogation, the perpetrator admitted all his actions together with perpetrator H who was previously and is serving his sentence," he concluded.
