The joint SAR team managed to evacuate the body of a resident of Pasangkayu Regency, West Sulawesi, who was previously reported missing by a crocodile.

Wahyu's body (30), said Ibnu Ajaya, was found about 250 meters from the initial location reported missing by crocodiles.

"The victim's body was then immediately evacuated to the victim's family house," said Ibnu Ajaya.

With Wahyu's body found, he said, the search and rescue operation for missing victims attacked by crocodiles was stopped.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Pasangkayu Police, AKPIdham, said that the search for missing residents due to being attacked by the crocodile was carried out through sweeping up to two kilometers from where the victim was reported missing.

"The search conducted by joint personnel from the Pasangkayu Police Polair Unit together with Basarnas and TNI as well as residents since yesterday (Friday, 19/5) has finally yielded results after today the victim's body was found about 250 meters from the scene," said Idham.

He appealed to the public to be careful when doing activities on the banks of the river.

Previously, on Friday (19/5) at around 17.30 WITA, Wahyu was reported missing by a crocodile while looking for fish with his colleague at the Sulu River bridge, Karya Bersama Village, Pasangkayu District, Pasangkayu Regency.

The Mamuju SAR Office, which received information that a crocodile attacked a missing resident, immediately dispatched a Rescue Team from the Pasangkayu SAR Alert Unit to the first suspected location of the incident.

After a search was carried out along the Sulu River, the joint SAR team finally found the victim dead on Saturday afternoon at around 10.50 WITA.
