PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk noted that as many as 12 thousand vehicles experienced a lack of electronic toll card balance at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate (GT) of the Batang-Semarang Toll Road during the 2023 Eid homecoming season.
Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head, Lisye Octaviana, said that there were 12,209 vehicles with under-balanced balances at the Kalikangkung GT of the Batang-Semarang Toll Road during the Lebaran 2023 homecoming season.
At GT Kalikangkung, road users pay toll rates from Cikampek to Semarang.
Lisye said the number was 3.97 percent of the total 306,980 vehicles that made transactions at GT Kalikangkung.
According to him, with a low e-toll balance and an e-toll top up at the toll substation, it will result in a significant delay time.
With this delay time, his party noted an average reduction in the capacity of toll substation transactions at GT Kalikangkung by -5 percent per hour.
"Initially in 1 minute we were able to serve transactions of up to five vehicles, if the road users lacked balance and had to top up at the toll booth, then 1 minute could only serve one vehicle," he said, quoted by Antara.
