Gorontalo Governor Bans COVID-19 Patients To Self-Isolating

GORONTALO - Gorontalo Governor Rusli Habibie forbade COVID-19 patients without symptoms to self-isolate. They must undergo central isolation.

"There are no more confirmed positive COVID-19 patients, especially people without symptoms (OTG) who are self-isolating. All of them must undergo centralized isolation", said Rusli Habibie in Gorontalo, quoted by Antara, Friday, July 16.

The reason, he said, was that OTG could not be monitored closely, so it was feared that while undergoing self-isolation there would be no discipline.

"I'm worried that because they don't get close supervision, OTG people can go anywhere. This can lead to the rapid transmission of the virus", he continued.

Rusli hopes that every citizen will maintain their health, obey wearing masks, maintain distance, maintain immunity and eat nutritious food, and not hold crowds such as wedding parties.

He also instructed all district and city governments to prepare centralized quarantine facilities.

"There must be a centralized quarantine facility", he said.

In the cities of Gorontalo and Bone Bolango, centralized isolation has been prepared at the Gorontalo Hajj Dormitory. In addition, it is encouraged that the quarantine is centered in North Gorontalo Regency, in Popalo Village, Anggrek District so that it will be completed immediately.

"We need to prepare supporting facilities in an effort to quickly handle COVID-19", said Rusli.
