Congestion Due To Blocking Jakarta Road, Deputy Governor Riza Apologizes

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria apologized for the traffic jams caused by the blocking of roads in a number of Jakarta roads during the Emergency PPKM period.

For information, Polda Metro Jaya has added blocking points in the Jakarta area and its surroundings. So, currently there are 100 blocking points and congestion is unavoidable.

"Sorry to all residents if there are still many barriers," said Riza when met in the East Jakarta area, Friday, July 16.

Riza said that this effort to limit mobility was carried out to ensure the safety and health of all citizens, by minimizing the transmission of the corona virus.

In order to make mobility restrictions run more effectively, Riza asked all companies in Jakarta to comply with the Emergency PPKM rules. Where, workers are allowed to work outside the home only in essential and critical sectors.

"Besides that, please understand, you can work at home, shop online too. Please cooperate. Let's support discipline, well, and responsibly so that we can immediately reduce the number of COVID-19 cases in Jakarta and in the end we can break the chain of the spread of COVID-19," explained Riza

Separately, the Director of Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo, who was confirmed about this, did not deny the occurrence of traffic jams. "Yes, there is a traffic jam. It's okay," said Sambodo in his statement.

Later, continued Sambodo, the congestion that occurs will be a material for evaluation. Because the traffic jam was predictable. "We evaluate. Usually tomorrow the queue will be shorter," he continued.
