JAKARTA - Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas hopes that the cooperation between the Government of Indonesia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of Hajj can be further improved, one of which is the development of the Hajj trade ecosystem.
"The president hopes that trade relations between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia will be further improved," said the Minister of Religion when receiving a working visit from the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Indonesia Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amudi as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 14.
The Minister of Religion's meeting with the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Indonesia discussed actual issues related to the implementation of the 1444 H/2023 M pilgrimage to cooperation in the halal industry.
Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amudi appreciated what the Indonesian government had done in the success of the implementation of the pilgrimage, starting from departure to arrival in the Holy Land.
"All the efforts made are extraordinary. We, the Government of Saudi Arabia, feel very honored to be able to provide services to Indonesian pilgrims," he said.
Responding to this, Minister of Religion Yaqut said that the Indonesian people also expressed their gratitude for the Hajj service from the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Minister of Religion said he reported to President Joko Widodo regarding the recent implementation of the pilgrimage. To the Minister of Religion, the President hopes that in the future cooperation will continue to be improved, including the halal product industry.
"Currently, the cooperation between the Indonesian-Saudi Arabia halal industry is only the signing of the MoU. President Joko Widodo wants the MoU to be realized immediately with the signing of the MoU by the two countries," he said.
