KPU Discusses PKPU Draft For Reporting Campaign Funds With Commission II Of The DPR
JAKARTA - Member of the General Election Commission (KPU) Idham Holik said his agency would discuss the Draft KPU Regulation on Campaign Fund Reporting in a hearing held by Commission II of the DPR on Monday (29/5).
"On May 29, 2023, at 13.00 WIB, the Indonesian KPU and the Indonesian Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) and the Election Organizing Honorary Council (DKPP) were invited to the RDP (AUDIence meeting) with Commission II and the government, one of which discussed the PKPU Draft on Campaign Fund Reporting," said Idham, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, May 25.
He explained that the RPKPU will regulate a number of things, including the prohibition for 2024 election participants to receive campaign donations from foreign parties, parties whose identities are not clear, and donations from criminal acts that have been proven based on court decisions with permanent legal force and/or aimed at hiding or disguising the proceeds of criminal acts.
In addition, election participants are also prohibited from receiving campaign donations from the government, local governments, state-owned enterprises, and regional or village-owned enterprises.

Idham said the provisions had been regulated in Article 339 paragraph (1) letters a up to letter e of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (UU Pemilu).
He conveyed that one of the proceeds from a criminal act that was prohibited from being accepted by election participants was funds sourced from drug sales.
"Regarding political funds originating from drug sales, the category is prohibited funds. This is also clearly regulated in Article 339 paragraph (1) letter c of Law Number 7 of 2017," said Idham.
