TERNATE - The Search and Rescue Office of the Ternate Basarnas, North Maluku (Malut) finally found the KM Dua Putra Raya ship with 19 passengers who were reported to have experienced engine failure, and were safe in the waters of North Maluku.

Head of Basarnas Ternate Fathur Rahman said at around 11.00 WIT, KM Dua Putra Raya was successfully evacuated and arrived at Dufa Dufa Port safely and handed over to the family.

Furthermore, KM Dua Putra Raya was pulled to Dufa Port, Dufa Ternate and accompanied by a fishing boat and KN SAR Pandudewanata.

According to him, information on the incident was received by the Ternate Basarnas at 03.40 WIT through the Captain of the ship.

Chronology of the incident, on May 23, 2023 at around 09.00 WIT, the KM Dua Putra Raya ship on the Bacan route, South Halmahera - Batang Dua with 19 passengers experienced engine failure in the waters of Hiri Ternate Island.

After it was found that KM Dua Putra Raya and all POB were safe, the SAR operation was completed and closed, all elements involved were returned to their respective units with thanks.
