Ahead Of Political Year, President Jokowi Invites Hindus To Maintain Peace

Towards the 2024 political year, Indonesian President Joko Widodo advised Hindus to maintain peace and tolerance in the country.

This message was conveyed by Jokowi in a virtual speech at the celebration of the National Dharma Santi Saka New Year 1945 at the Jakarta Ocean Center, Friday, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, May 13.

"The situation of a nation that is conducive needs to be maintained together. Keep it cool and peaceful. Tolerance and mutual respect, because we have entered the political year," said President Jokowi in his virtual speech.

In addition, President Jokowi in the final section of his remarks also advised Hindus everywhere to be able to carry out Dharma Agama and Dharma Negara with full awareness.

This is realized in carrying out the obligations of Srada-Bhakti as religious people. At the same time, Hindus can exercise their rights and obligations as citizens of the Republic of Indonesia, uphold the honor of the state and nation, protect the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.

The event was also attended by a number of officials including the Presidential Special Staff Coordinator AAGN Ari Dwipayana, MPR Chairman Bambang Soesatyo, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, and Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Bintang Puspayoga.

Then the General Chairperson of the Central PHDI Daily Executive Major General TNI (Ret.) Wisnu Bawa Tanaya and thousands of Hindus, both from around Jabodetabek and representatives of Hindus from all corners of the country.
