Hell Group Doesn't Order Shin Tae-yong's Confidence In Looking At The 2023 Asian Cup
JAKARTA The Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong, still looks optimistic about the 2023 Asian Cup even though it is in a tough group. Based on the draw results, at the Opera House, Doha, Qatar, Thursday, May 11, WIB night, Indonesia was in Group D with Japan, Iraq and Vietnam. "Of course, our group is not easy. But I have full confidence in my team," Shin said as quoted from the PSSI official website.
Indonesia is the national team with the lowest FIFA ranking in the group. Currently, the Garuda squad is in 149th place compared to Japan (20), Iraq (67), and Vietnam (95).
However, the South Korean tactician said that fighting forces like Vietnam and Japan was actually good for Indonesia.
"We are the team with the lowest rank of all the contestants. Even so, every match will be very challenging," he said.
"I can say that dealing with our rivals like Vietnam and Japan is a positive thing. As long as we can prepare ourselves well, I think we can give a good performance against them," continued the coach.
Shin Tae-yong also guaranteed that he would try to maintain the motivation of his players during the group stage matches.
"We will fight until the end. I will keep the players motivated so that they can give their best in every game," said the former South Korean national team coach at the World Cup.
