Had Decreased During Eid, Jakarta's Electricity Consumption Returned To Normal Today
JAKARTA - PLN's Jakarta Distribution Main Unit (UID) recorded a decrease in the electricity consumption burden during Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri, before finally reaching normal numbers again today.
General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta Raya Doddy B. Pangaribuan said, during the Lebaran 2023 holiday, electricity consumption in Jakarta tends to decrease, due to joint government leave and some people leave the city of Jakarta for homecoming or just a vacation.
"On the night of takbiran, on April 21, 2023, the peak load at 19.00 WIB was 3,682 megawatts. The peak load was during the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1444 H, April 22, 2023, at 20.00 WIB of 3,462 megawatts," said Doddy in his statement, Tuesday, May 2.
When compared to the previous year, the peak electricity consumption burden on the D-day celebrations of Eid al-Fitr rose 1.6 percent compared to Eid al-Fitr in 2022.
Then, electricity consumption after Lebaran rose again a week after Eid. The peak load during the day on April 27, 2023 was 4,706 megawatts. Meanwhile, at night, the highest peak load was 4,355 megawatts.
"The electricity consumption of the people of Jakarta who have returned to office and business activities is predicted to be normal today, predicted at 5,117 megawatts," said Doddy.
