Spyware Warehouse, Be Careful With The Telegram Mod Application!

JAKARTA - Telegram is one of the messaging applications with a rich feature, but limited by Premium access so that some users try to take illegal routes.

In order to access unlimited features, some users are willing to download the mod version. In fact, this form of application is very dangerous and can send various types of malware to exploit users.

Mod or application modification is a software that has been changed to improve its function. Usually, companies don't like this modified idea until they try to take firm action against mod version makers.

The company's actions are actually good because the mod version is the target of cybercriminals. Quoting from Makeuseof, Kaspersky announced last September that Mod from Telegram distributed a lot of malware.

This mod version usually needs to be searched for in the browser, but some Telegram modes actually appear on Google Play. The app uses Telegram images and is advertised as a faster and lighter version of Telegram, but the language used is China.

This app may look the same, but the code is clearly different. Anyone who downloads it can be spy on by the maker. All information on the user's cellphone ranges from contacts, messages, files, to phone numbers can be owned by the developer.

Mod is clearly part of spyware. Kaspersky also argues that the GREF, the cyber hacker group behind this crime. The group is accused of being in contact with the Chinese government.

Although this fake application has been removed by the Google Play Store and the Samsung Galaxy Store, there are still many other mod applications that are dangerous and need to be avoided so that your information remains safe.

Make sure to keep downloading from legitimate platforms, even if you want to download the mod version. Before downloading, first find out the developer from the application you want to download.

After finding out the developer, check the rating and review of the application to find out its safety. Do not download from third-party apication stores or random websites whose credibility is unknown.

The last way that can be done is to use a security application. Make sure to follow all these stages so that the mod application that is infected with spyware is not used.
