Effective Tips To Maintain Company Infrastructure Security From Cyber Incidents

JAKARTA - Kaspersky's latest research conducted on IT Security professionals working for MSMEs and companies around the world revealed that abuses committed by employees could lead to cyber incidents in companies.

Regarding the behavior of individual employees, the most common problem is that employees deliberately do what is prohibited and, on the other hand, they fail to do what is required.

"It's very worrying to see that despite some data breaches and ransomware attacks that made headlines in the Asia Pacific region this year, there are still many employees who deliberately violated basic information security policies," said Adrian Hia, Managing Director of Asia Pacific in Kaspersky.

Therefore, respondents stated that a quarter (35 percent) of cyber incidents in the last two years occurred due to the use of a weak password or failure to change it at the right time.

However, there are also several other causes such as opening a malicious website, using unauthorized devices or applications to share documents, to forgetting to update the software.
