Meta Breaks AI Responsible Team To Deepen Core And Technology Product Development

JAKARTA - Meta Platforms Inc., owner of Facebook, announced on Saturday 18 November that it will deploy members of their AI Responsible team into other groups in the company. But they will continue to work to prevent risks associated with artificial intelligence.

A Meta spokesperson said in an emailed statement that the company intends to bring staff closer to product development and core technology.

Most of the AI's Responsible team members will switch to the AI genrative "and will continue to support relevant cross-Meta efforts in AI's development and use," the statement said. Some members will move to AI infrastructure.

"We continue to prioritize and invest in safe and responsible AI development, and this change will allow us to better scale to meet our future needs," the spokesperson said.

In October, the social media giant began rolling out a generating artificial intelligence (AI) tool that can create content such as image backgrounds and written text variations for all advertisers.

Portfolio AI Meta products include their language model "Llama 2" and an AI chatbot called Meta AI that can generate text responses and photorealistic images.
