Xbox Boss Says He Won't Add Gik Blizzard To Game Pass This Year

JAKARTA - Two days after Microsoft acquired Bethesda in March 2021, Microsoft immediately added a dozen Bethesda game titles to Game Pass. However, this is different.

In an interview with the official Xbox podcast, Microsoft head Phil Spencer said players should not expect a similar surprise from Activision Blizzard's game on subscription service in the near future.

While Microsoft was able to make many efforts to bring Bethesda titles to Game Pass before closing the acquisition deal, this did not happen to Activision Blizzard, as it was unclear whether the acquisition would be approved by competition regulators to date.

Activision Blizzard said before the deal closed it was expected to start adding its title to Game Pass in 2024.

I think it's accurate. I would love if there was some kind of secret celebration that would happen in the next few weeks not," he added.

"Obviously if we think about the new games that are there, I'll be honest with the people, right. If we're going to put it on subscriptions this year, I'll tell people," Spencer said further.

However, Spencer claims to know the disappointment users feel. However, he remains excited about what is in the future

"So the fact that we didn't reach the first day with a lot of games getting into Game Pass is a bit disappointing, but I'm very excited about the future. And I just want to be honest with people that that's where we are," he concluded.
