Getting To Know Bluesky, A Platform That Was Once A Part Of Twitter

Platform X, previously Twitter, has had many complaints since Elon Musk became CEO. Many began cursing the platform and wanted to move to other platforms similar to Twitter, one of which was Bluesky.

Bluesky is one of the most prominent competing apps from X according to Makeuseof. The reason is, Bluesky was created by former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.

Bluesky was originally a project from Twitter. However, in 2021 Bluesky became an independent company and in 2022 Bluesky terminated its contract with Twitter.

Given the cooperation that has existed between the two, it's no wonder that the Bluesky platform is so similar to X. In fact, the Bluesky platform can be used to upload images and text.

Unfortunately, starting October this year, Bluesky cannot be used to upload videos and GIFs or moving images. Interestingly, Bluesky has a fee with a special algorithm that can be added to the app.

Bluesky is a decentralized platform so users can use the special domain or the main domain of Bluesky Social. This special domain can be used to obtain verification of journalists' accounts and community leaders.

Despite the verification process, Bluesky does not provide a blue tick to its users. This policy is one of the differences between Bluesky and other social media platforms.

Bluesky makes money in different ways. They don't use advertising as the dominant business because of the decentralized nature of its platform. Bluesky is still present in beta, but users have reached 1.5 million this month.

If you want to use Bluesky, users must register with an application invitation code. This invitation can be obtained from users who are already in the application or are in the waiting list.

After having a code, select the hosting provider and set Bluesky as the default host. After that, enter the invitation code on the next page. On the next page, the registrant will be asked to enter the email address, password, and date of birth.

After all the procedures are followed, registrants only need to enter their username and wait until the account is successfully created. This application can be downloaded freely on Android and iOS.
