Platform X Test Streaming Video Game, Elon Musk Plays Diablo 4

JAKARTA - Platform X (formly Twitter) went a step further in becoming "all in one application" after Elon Musk tested video game streaming on the platform.

In a 50-minute broadcast on October 6, Musk streamed while playing a popular online action game, Diablo 4.

When starting the broadcast, Musk explained that "What we are aiming for here is to make the sound sound normal, the image looks good enough so it doesn't blink, and the comments work."

While this feature is still in its early stages of development, the quality of broadcast remains consistent, where Musk seems satisfied with the work the developers have done so far.

"It's good that it works completely," he said, quoted by Cointelegraph.

At the end of the broadcast, Musk answered some questions from his audience and gave a more context about what X was going to.

"We're going to add streaming to Xbox and PS5. You know, we're not trying to do anything better than other apps, but we want to say that, well, if you want to do something in system or platform X, you can do it if you want," he said.

"I think highly specialist apps are likely to still be better than us in many ways, but, I think we could be the best general apps. There are some values in being a common app for, I think, discovery and interacting with a large number of people in the world," Musk said.

However, Musk did not disclose anything about payments or cryptocurrencies integrated with streaming for aspects such as subscriptions or donations.

There is a significant interest in this move. As of this writing, broadcasts or "simbers" have been viewed by 2.8 million viewers within hours of the end of the session, while tweets highlighting the broadcast have been viewed by 9.3 million people and received more than 5,300 retweets.

After the Twitter brand was changed to X in July, Musk explained that it was part of his plan to develop "all in one app" which basically provides various social media features and supports financial services, including crypto.

This focus has led X to introduce a profit-sharing model for Premium X customers, among others, and provides users with the ability to post live videos and content on their platforms.
