Linda Yaccarino, Chief Executive Officer of social media platform X, said that the company could possibly list profits in early 2024. This statement was made in an interview covering various topics. On that occasion he also showed the company's progress under the ownership of billionaire Elon Musk.

This appearance comes as Yaccarino commemorates 100 days as CEO of the platform previously known as Twitter. He has faced questions about his autonomy in the post and the company's ability to attract advertisers who have been wary of rapid changes on the platform and Musk's controversial personality.

"The speed of change and ambition coverage in X really doesn't exist anywhere else," Yaccarino said.

When asked about third-party estimates indicating that active users of the X-app have dropped to 25th behind Samsung's clock app, Yaccarino said that the key metrics associated with the time spent in X "developed very, very positively," without providing specific details.

Yaccarino also added that about 1,500 advertisers have returned to the platform in the past 12 weeks, and that 90% of the company's top 100 advertisers have returned.

Although Yaccarino said the company could list profits next year, X is also facing a number of lawsuits alleging the company failed to pay office rent and millions of dollars as severance pay to thousands of employees who were fired.

Since Musk acquired the social media company in October, X has struggled to keep advertisers. Advertisers fear that their ads will appear next to inappropriate content, as researchers and activist groups report an increase in hate-loaded posts on the platform.

Antisemitic content in X has been the focus in recent weeks. Earlier this month, Musk threatened to sue the Anti-Difamation League (Anti-Defamation League - ADL), accusing nonprofit organizations playing a role in countering antisemitism as the main cause of a 60% decrease in advertising revenue in X.

Musk's comments came just days after Yaccarino met with ADL.

When asked about Musk's fight with ADL, Yaccarino said that it would be "disappointing" if the organization did not recognize the progress X had made in terms of security.

In the preliminary part of the interview, he said that X had introduced new content moderation tools and features to prevent ads from appearing next to certain content that had not previously existed before acquisition.

Yaccarino also defended Musk's right to speak on the platform, saying, "Freedom of speech only works if someone you disagree with says something you don't agree with."
