JAKARTA - Google is expanding stronger protection on sensitive actions for Gmail, blocking hackers who will extract user data.

The protection appears when the user tries to edit and import filters in Gmail or prepares an email replacement address and activates the IMAP access status from the settings. (Admin workspace can control whether this setting is visible to the final user or not)

Then, Google will verify whether it is true that users are trying to edit Gmail suits. When this action is taken, Google will evaluate the session that tries to perform the action.

However, if deemed risky, this session will be challenged by your Verification command. Through a second and trusted factor, such as a 2-step verification code, users can confirm the validity of the action.

When verification challenges fail or are not resolved, users will receive important security warning notifications on trusted devices.

Challengers of this 'Verification you' will indeed be available to all users of a free Gmail account, including Workspace, as quoted in its announcement, Friday, August 25.

It should be noted, this feature only supports users who use Google as an identity and action provider taken in the company's products.
