1,005 Bitcoins From 2010 Active Again, This Whale Sends BTC To New Address

JAKARTA - On Monday morning, August 14, 2023, a previously inactive bitcoin address - was created on November 9, 2010 - suddenly rising from sleep. After sleeping for more than 12.9 years, the address suddenly became active and made transactions to spend 1,005 bitcoins.

At this time, bitcoin transactions from the 2010 era are becoming rare. The last known transaction of the inactive bitcoin occurred on July 24, 2023. At that time, a user was spending from a block prize of 50 BTC, equivalent to 1.4 million US dollars (Rp 21.4 billion). However, the incident on August 14, 2023, became even more shocking to the crypto community, where 1,005 BTC worth 29.7 million US dollars (around Rp454 billion) moved.

The Btcparser.com site first detected this extraordinary movement, and Whale Alert also confirmed the transaction. Furthermore, Blockchair transaction analysis tools highlight aspects of the transaction's privacy weakness. The tool reveals that transaction privacy is rather low, when 1,005 BTC is removed, and highlights two critical weaknesses that affect transaction anonymity.

According to an analysis of the privacy tool, 1,005 BTC was firmly sent to a new address, followed by the appearance of several identical addresses in the transaction input. Blockchair reports that the funds have found a new venue at the address "bc1q6," which at the time of writing contains 1,004.99 BTC.

Interestingly, the address of origin holding 1,005 BTC remains immobile related to its bitcoin (BCH) currency. Recently, Bitcoin.com reported forgotten bitcoin transactions worth 11.4 million US dollars (Rp174 billion) from 2016 and 2014, which were only detected moving at the end of last week after years of silence.

This old bitcoin transaction, especially dating back to 2010, has attracted interest and speculation. Cryptocurrency enthusiasts are fueled by this mystery, trying to reveal the identity of the owner and the story behind the coins.
