JAKARTA - Microsoft makes it easier for users considering the website they recently visited in its Edge browser, by storing screenshots.

The screenshot can later be seen by users in their browser history. Currently, the new feature is being tested by Microsoft which is available on the Edge Dev and Canary builds.

The features available to these desktop users can be disabled by default, at least during testing.

"We will take screenshots from the site you visited and save them so you can revisit the site you want from history quickly," Microsoft said in the introduction of the new feature.

Microsoft Edge users can visit edge://settings/privacy directly or select Settings click Menu select Privacy, Search and Services.

There, users can check if their Edge version has the Save screenshots of site for History option, which is just at the bottom of the page in the settings.

If the feature is available, the user can open the Edge history tab to see the screenshot taken.

Launching GHacks, Monday, August 7, this screenshot feature is actually an offline readability, similar to that provided by Mozilla Pocket to Microsoft Edge.

Screenshots also only show static images stored by Edge and not a complete website page. In addition, users can view the complete website by opening their browser history and then clicking on the link there.
