East Ventures Highlights Opportunities For AI Technology Implementation In Indonesia

JAKARTA - Breakthroughs in the development of artificial intelligence (AI) occur worldwide, including in Indonesia. With a young population that is technology literate and a supporting macroeconomic trend, Indonesian companies are starting to adopt AI.

The National Strategy for Indonesian Artificial Intelligence (Stranas KA) 2020-2045 forms the basis for AI growth by encouraging collaboration between the government, industry, academics, and society.

To facilitate coordination between sectors, an organization was formed for the Collaboration of Research and Innovation of the Artificial Intelligence Industry (KORIKA) consisting of the Government, Industry, Academics, and Community, and the AI Innovation Center called the Center for Artificial Intelligence Innovation (PIKA).

Based on the spotlight from East Ventures, AI technology has also begun to be implemented in various sectors in Indonesia, ranging from logistics, Human Resources (HR), education, cybersecurity, to customer service.

Although the implementation of AI in Indonesia has not been fully realized, its potential is quite promising, especially in overcoming health service inequality and revolutionizing various industries.

An example is health services. By applying AI technology, the government can break down by expanding the service to remote areas in Indonesia.

By studying large amounts of historical data on doctor care and patient data, AI can replicate suggestions from many doctors at lower costs, enabling accurate diagnosis and increasing treatment standards, EV wrote in its blog.

Not only that, but AI also allows scientists and engineers to make breakthroughs in various fields. Such as disease detection, discovery of new drugs, analyzing satellite imagery, weather data, and soil conditions, to analyzing the needs and diverse financial behavior.

In order for the maximum use of AI in various sectors, East Ventures advises Indonesia to prioritize responsible data management and in accordance with regulations.
